I'm starting to feel like it's taking longer and longer for a loan to move to 'active' status as in getting disbursed. Is this the case or do I just have some slow to be disbursed ones Huh?
I have a loan in Nepal that was raised on Dec. 13th but still has not been disbursed.

Steff I have one as well, raised slightly later.

http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=27933

I read recently that Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries throughout the world, 12th poorest according to google, and that might have some bearing on the pace that things seem to be moving.

Here's the MFI page:

http://www.kiva.org/about/aboutPartner?id=62

Theyve only handled 96 loans, and in the three months theyve worked with Kiva, 29 remain inactive.  Of those inactive, the oldest one is from Dec 1st.  It seems of the loans that have been disbursed, some have taken over a month to get going, others a few days.  Most of their first bunch of loans took 5 weeks.  Yours and mine are just now approaching a month.  Hopefully by the end of January the loans will turn over as active.

Also the MFI page has a great bit of information relating to certain policies they implement and outline some procedures as well...this info follows the title "Salient features of micro credit program."  It was nice to learn a few of these details.

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.

Thanks for checking that out Steve.  I see I am already 5 years past the "life expectancy" in Nepal. :-(

... and I, Steff, was given a special introduction as an "elder"  Shocked at the Ugandan ceremony given to celebrate the completion of the house we had built (Habitat).  Two other "elders" were called up, too, and we had to give a "speech."

Glenda, reminds me of when I was pregnant at age 36 and the obstetrician referred to me as "elderly". Pissy
