Here's a new feature I just added which should come in handy as this forum continues to grow. You can now bookmark your favorite threads.

It's pretty simple; at the upper and lower right corners of each thread there is a row of options. The new one is BOOKMARK THIS. That will.... bookmark that particular thread. Wink

To view your bookmarks, click the MY BOOKMARKS link on the main menu above (you have to be logged in to see that). That's all there is too it. On the My Bookmarks page, there are two buttons next to each of your bookmarks. One will open your bookmark in a new window and the other will delete your bookmark when you're tired of it. The bookmarks are sorted alphabetically.

Three pictures below. Let me know if there are any problems.

Added the ability to fiddle with the forum statistics. Want to know who's posted the most, what threads have been the most active, etc etc in the last, oh, lets say 12 days? Play with the Select period to see above statistics seciton on the Forum Stats page (link is at the bottom of the main page - "View Detailed Stats").

Also added a pageviews column to the general stats, which is why you see 10,000+ for July and 0 for the previous 4 months.

Picture below.

It is good to look at the facts & statistics numbers.  However, some of us like to be in fortune telling business.  It would be nice to add two more entries for anulized rate of money raised (based on yesterday's numbers), and anulized projected growth in individuals loaning.  For example, if my memory serves me correct, yesterday there were 83,004 individuals.  Today there are 83,255.  Yearly rate (83,255-83,004) x 365 = 91,615.

One more entry.  # of loans funded yesterday.  To me personally, this # is more meaningful than total # of loans.  I don't care about the past (it is history), I like to see where we will be in a years time.

Thanks for the suggestion Simba. You might be better off making that suggestion directly to Kiva, as the numbers in the box at the top of this forum are based on a script on their site that updates periodically throughout the day. That said, I'll see if I can do something like that here down the line. Crunching numbers is usually fun Smiley

Henry, change is good Wink Besides, if you tipped the jar over right now you'd get dust. lol. It was just emptied and handed over to my hosting company to cover some improvements to the server. The rest went into Kiva to fund loans including Mr. Hugo Cedeño, the latest on the Kiva Friends group profile. So, if you'd like your spare change back, kindly visit Guayaquil, Ecuador and track him down Grin Seriously though, thanks for the support. And thanks again to everyone that has tossed some change into the jar.

The bookmarks and forum stats threads have been merged into this new topic. Every time I add something to the site I'll just post about it here so it's organized (I think I've got OCD).

Speaking of new stuff, check out your new control panel. Wink

Yeah it was Rosie O.... *points in her direction and runs in the other*.

A chat room is coming soon. I was looking at some last night but they weren't very user friendly and forum compatible. I'd like one that could mix in with the calendar function above so we can schedule live group chats from time to time, especially on nights/days that Kiva is getting some major mainstream coverage on the tube or radio. The search continues. Smiley

Added a Save PM function last week. You can save individual messages or all your messages as an HTML file (that will open in any web browser). Alternatively, if you get your personal messages sent to you by e-mail, you can always save them there as well Smiley

The chat room is up and running. You can get to it by....... using the Chat Room link on the menu above. If you scroll down to the bottom of the forum, you can see who is (or was) in there next to all the who's online data.

You don't need to register for a chat account. Just click the link and it should log you in automatically with your current forum username.

As of right now, the chat is members only, due to the automatic login thing. Sorry guests. You'll have to register for an account on the forum (or log in) if you'd like to check out the live chat. Smiley

It's flash-based, so it should work for just about everyone.

Sorry about the default blue skin. I'll Kiva green it soon and get a logo in there. Until then, there are a few skins/themes you can choose from using the Options button. You can also change the color schemes as well and personalize it to your liking. So play around with it. It'll remember your settings.

Sometimes the main page will say that someone is still in the chat room when they've left. To prevent that from happening to you, hit the little X in the upper right corner of the chat box to log yourself out.

Nonetheless, enjoy! Let me know if there are any issues.
