KIVA STORE IDEA
would you pay $40 to $50 for a KIVA $25.00 gift certificate and a 'nice!' KIVA Christmas tree ornament?
OR!
the same for a Certificate and a KIVAFriends.org ornament?
either one mailed from KIVA to the gift-e.

(idle thoughts...)

I might do that, if I liked the ornament.  Maybe the ornaments could be representative of some of the businesses that you can lend to through Kiva.  Like a little bike (bicycle repair people), or a cow or other farm animals for farmers, a table with place settings, for a restaurant...  I'd probably buy one if it were just a plain (nice) globe type ornament, with "Kiva" written on it too.

No, I would not, because I have already too much junk and I am not much into Christmas ornaments. Maybe that's because I am German.  Wink

I'd buy one, just because it was my post. I'd like a KIVA Pickle ornament (some meaning to hanging a pickle on your tree)? or a KIVA Goat, since that was my favorite slogan, help buy a goat!

Are you referring to the rumors that Germans put pickles (or pickle ornaments) on their X-mas tree? Take it from me, it is not true.

Yup - I have a pickle....and a carrot....and garlic....and a couple varieties of maize....and a hot pepper......along with myriads of critters.  Used to add one ornament a year, and one of my daughters got into the veggies.  What the blurb with the pickle said was that the child who found the pickle on the tree got a special prize on Christmas morning. (Probably invented by the guys who made the ornament so that more would sell)  Wink

I like your idea Henry...I like the idea of world map on the ornament....with maybe some of the countries highlighted...hmmm....and I would probably buy one or two as gifts as I no longer put up a tree.

Pickles on your Christmas Tree... interesting!
I hadn't thought about that, but then again-- I'm Dutch and not German Smiley

As I have stated somewhere else earlier: Germans like pickled things...but NOT on a Christmas tree! I totally agree with Ulli here, and, Ramon, I will not let a Dutch get through with his insinuations against us Germans!!  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry
