There are now 1579 pages of journals.  While they are in chronological order, with that volume they are almost unmanageable.  I would really like to see an additional link to these, other than at the bottom of the borrower's page.

I would like to see Journals sortable by either MFI or by country.  If they were sortable by MFI, then it should be easy to go from the Partner's page to its journals, in the same way that you can see all the loans from that MFI.

That way we could at least read journals that we might have a specific interest in, since there frequently are so few on loans we have invested in.

Hooray  Grin !

I was JUST thinking about this very topic.  I sent Kiva a "Feedback" email from the Home page before I found this great spot.

It's really not that difficult to do, but I suspect there's a wicked backlog of "To Do" items....

HAS ANYONE APPLIED FOR KIVA'S OPEN DEVELOPER JOB YET?

I would like to see a link on my portfolio page that links to all journals submitted by the borrowers I have lent to.  I don't think this is a current option?  I really think the journals help complete the circle Kiva has created.  The only other recommendation would be to allow lenders to a specific borrower to send comments, pictures or "best wishes".  Let the borrower to see the faces of those who are helping them from the other side of the earth.

Agreed - it has been suggested earlier. at least by me but I think by others as well.  There is a Suggestion folder for this very purpose - forwarding ideas.

Be well, Dagfinn A.

Hello Getyourbone,
If I understood your suggestion correctly, KIVA could not arrange universal lender/borrower direct communication because most of the borrowers are lacking internet access and/or computers.
This is why they've arranged for us to leave our comments on the borrowers' pages after they post their first journals.

Since lenders already can make comments on the journals for borrowers they loaned to, I'm not sure what additional you are asking for in that regard (other than the idea of posting pictures--which would get back to the thread discussing animal pictures representing lenders ).

Your idea about having a portfolio option that not just links to borrowers' pages but also directly to journals on those loans would be excellent.  Post that one on the suggestion section for sure.

Many of us have received a sort of journal entry on our MIFEX loans.  However, when you click on the comments, you find that this is just a link to a posting on the Partner's page.  Many of the comments from lenders indicate they are under the impression that this journal is a standard journal concerning their specific loan.

Ideally these "broadcast" journals should be posted in a way so each loan truly has its own set of comments.

But short of that, there should be some way to indicate this is a MFI Field Partner post and all comments will be aggregated regardless of individual loans.

Either that or change the comment line to include a disclaimer that this is just a copy of the post made on the partner page (with a link to the partner page comment section).

Well said Dan, it took me some time to understand this was not a Kiva message but from the MFI itself.  Besides that it did not say much if you decipher it, just that they are trying their best whick kind of goes without saying as we all do.
