one thing that is possible to 'acquire' the donations would be
*(of course if Joe is up to this - and it won't affect him with any accounting issues)*

we could 'donate' to Joe's tip jar, (send a message to Joe telling him the amount for donation)  then he could accumulate these 'donations' for Mark's family and forward that payment to the ultimate person making the transfer?

Just an Idea to put out there.

     Hi, All.
Hey, things are getting a little fragmented here.  I think the last few posts, if I read them right,
were about the soon-to-be Fund for Mark's Mom.  I was just writing about that in the Sad Tale thread,
http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,667.60.html

Please check over there and let me know --

if any of you have a better or an easier way to get this Fund going and "operational", different
from this KF in Poulsbo, Washington, trying to do something (to/) from here --

PLEASE Get it out there soon.

I was under the assumption that because no one else responded when Diane asked if someone
were willing to step up, that because I said I would -- if nobody else could or would --
that I was "supposed to be" doing something about this.  But maybe I was getting ahead of you/myself.
Maybe we're still at that point in the "Planning Stage" where not even who's going to be in charge of it
has been decided.

I have less than NO emotional investment in having to be "the One."  I only need to know if I'm supposed
to be doing something.

Please respond to this on the Sad Tale thread
     http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,667.60.html
so we can keep all the discussion about this in one place.

     Thanks,
    Jill

Shall the Fund make a loan also to Margrate Wanjiru Kamau, a seamstress who sews school uniforms, among other things?

(EDIT: OK, the fund will make this one more loan for now. If you see a good candidate loan appear on the site, use the Messages function to send me a heads-up about it, and I'll get it in my email and take a look.  Thanks, everyone!  Smiley )

I think this is a good choice, too, because it says in Mark's loan description that he (or his business) once made school uniforms.

The first loans for August have been released.  There are at this moment 13 loans to entrepreneurs in Kenya.  Does anyone have a loan they'd like the Fund to contribute to?  The Fund now has $375 in it (plus 3 loans we've already funded).

thanks,
