Since this is the suggestion box, I'm going to try and fill it up!
I've noticed that on the Kiva.org website (example: the top menu buttons) and on the kivafriends.org website (example the reply, newpost, etc buttons) the images do not have ALT tags. This means if people are browsing the website with images turned off (for faster browsing on slow internet connections) these people can't see and therefore can't click these buttons. Also, people using tools for the visually impaired, can't see these buttons either.
Since most Kiva partners are in countries with painfully slow internet connections- being able to browse without images would be a big help. I recommend that Kiva and Kivafriends add alt tags to all images which contain text.
Kiva.org may even benefit by allowing visitors to switch to a low-fi version of the site which strips out images and replaces them with text. They could then trigger that mode as default for times when the site is chugging under high bandwidth usage.
I'm a web developer, so that's why I noticed this... lol.
---edit---
Oh wait, I noticed on kivafriends that the buttons are white text on a green image background. When I turn off images, the buttons become white text on a white background and therefore invisible. They do have alt text on images... but I can't see the buttons when they become white on white.... hmmm.... But the big buttons on Kiva.org don't have alt tags.
