This thread is being created from posts in the original discussion thread, but will be closed for comments and made "sticky" so it's easy to find.  We will post here the ongoing results of the fundraising and lending, and keep track of relevant links here.  If you want to comment on lending choices for the Fund, please discuss on the Mark Agwonah Fund discussion thread.  Thanks to Oli ("wind5001") who got the fund started so quickly and smoothly.

This thread is to capture the history and status of the Mark Agwonah Fund, set up in his memory.  Its goal is to lend to entrepreneurs in Kenya, and to youth and youth-related matters when possible.

To learn more about Mark and why this Fund was set up, check out: http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=10175

You can find the Kiva.org lending group at: http://www.kiva.org/lender/markagwonahmemoria3530

Discussions about lending choices should be held at:  http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,682.0.html

Discussions about Mark, efforts to help his mother, and what we might do to publicize or probe the circumstances of his death can be found at: http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,667.0.html

If you want to contribute to the Fund, send a Kiva gift certificate to: wind5001@yahoo.com or PM wind5001 and DianeCharlie with the certificate number and email; they both administer the Fund.  Any money collected will be considered a donation to ensure that Mark's memory is kept alive, and will be re-loaned after repayment.  Contributions may be made anonymously, just indicate in your email/PM that you would like to stay anonymous.

Thanks for all your support and creative ideas.

Oli and Diane
