I see this as just another example of Kiva over promising and under delivering.

I'm a great believer in under-promissing & over delivering... makes a much better impression.

Sometimes people get so exited about a new concept that their dreams & ideas can't keep up with reality.

Kay, harsh or not, I haven't noticed anyone saying the star system is performing as promised or even at the level of how they would like it to perform.  As long as no new W.E.E.C. loans are posted until the rating is changed, leaving the stars along is fine with me.

If listings are posted with three-star ratings, that's a blatant misrepresentation of the risks that would be incurred by potential lenders.  I'm stifiling myself with that statement at the risk of sounding too harsh.

No, I would agree with you, Richard, that if more WEEC loans were posted, and WEEC were to retain its 3-star rating, that would be a blatant misrepresentation of the risks involved.  I imagine now, the question is whether WEEC will even continue as a Kiva partner, in light of the death of Jedidah Waigwa, who ran WEEC.

Has anyone seen an update to a star rating for any MFIs?  I am growing curious how often these are reviewed for changes and updates.  There are a few that certainly seem to be in need of an update.

Yes.  Within the last month or two, I noticed that LAPO in Nigeria went from 4 stars to 5.  I see it has been a field partner for 13 months, so I'm guessing it was reviewed at 1 year.
