almost every evening - happy hour!  starting about 8:30 central

it's BYOB!   Cheesy

P.S. Odette, the garden your cat's laying in, looks like a garden we could all enjoy! nice job!  I was showing off my garden photos to Queen in the chat room just last night.

Shocked Phooey!  I've been missing out.  Will try to catch the chat soon.  Oh, and yes, BYOB sounds reasonable. Grin

Thank you for the garden compliment.  For a non gardener, I've somehow managed to have over 42 potted plants on a small patio! This year I'm growing a banana tree in a pot which is very exciting because it hasn't died yet. Smiley It's a real learning process and haven't yet figured out why people enjoy the process of gardening .  Huh?

by all means come and join us in the evenings......its fun to have a place to talk about non-kiva things and to get to know one another better!!!

And we gardeners like the excuse to play in the mud!

It's frustrating: often I'll see a (1) after the Chat link at the top of the page and go into the Chat, only to find the other person has just left.  Sad  Ah well, sometimes I meet up with you all there!

it's not you!     I think if people exit the chat room without clicking the little 'X' to close the chat window, they stay showing as in the room until the next person comes in.

Yup, Henry - I discovered that this morning (there I was in the chat room Shocked....... only I wasn't).  I'm sure I'm the culprit!  Embarrassed Embarrassed EmbarrassedI only even thought of looking because of Joe's comment that we should look for an x in the upper right of the page.  I'm usually in such a panic trying to type fast enough to keep up a "conversation" that I forget.  Tongue Tongue Mea culpa, mea culpa  Embarrassed

Wow.  I have a lot to learn before I can "chat".

Here is what I did learn on my first foray into the chat room:

1.  Have a drink on hand (and drink some first).

Guess that is all!

I NEED to learn:   Huh?

1. How can I make the font larger and still see what is going on?  I found out how to enlarge the font, but then it seemed like the screen was only showing part of (and, unfortunately, the earlier part of) the rapidly moving conversation.

2. How can I change the background from the photo to something light colored?

I think I'd do much better with BIGGER letters on a LIGHT background... at least I could then sit back in my chair, drink in hand, and read in my refreshed and relaxed position. Smiley

Hmmmm.... so that is what chatting is all about.  Kiva Friends are so educational!

Safe travels,
Laurie
