It says "Shadow-Lurkers" in the title, but, in fact,
this is being addressed to Everyone Right Here -- at Kiva Friends --who is either:

-- A Registered KivaFriend Who Rarely or Who Never Logs In

-- A Registered KivaFriend Who Logs In Often Enough But Who Either Never "Posts" (Says Anything) or Who Hardly Ever Does

-- A Guest Who Has Returned to KivaFriends More Than A Couple of Times.

-- And Anybody Else I'm Forgetting to Include.

        THIS IS A PLEA

Asking you to please take a chance and give us the benefit of your Posts
and add Your Contribution, The Richness That You Have To Offer,
(Whether You Believe That or Not)
to the Community That We're Trying to Build Here at KivaFriends.

It's been seeming like only a relatively small number of individuals, here,
have been, essentially, "carrying" the entire Forum.
That's been working; we still have fun and, sometimes, some Pretty Great Conversations.

But the whole idea behind the Community (that I think) we're trying to get going here
is the belief that
THE LARGER THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WE CAN GET JOINING TOGETHER
             AND CONTRIBUTING
                    and

THE GREATER THE DIVERSITY WE CAN HAVE REPRESENTED, HERE, IN OUR DISCUSSIONS,
             that is,

DIVERSITY IN BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE, IN CULTURE, IN GEOGRAPHIC LOCALE, AND IN PERSPECTIVE AND IN POINT OF VIEW,

THE RICHER ALL OF US WILL BE FOR THAT DIVERSITY
                and

THE MORE HOPE THERE WILL BE THAT WE CAN SPREAD KIVA
               and

             (IF NOT) "SAVE" THE WORLD
PERHAPS MAKE IT A BETTER PLACE FOR MORE PEOPLE
              TO HANG OUT

Okay, jill, carry THIS for a while.

Last night I dreamt that I missed a fish fry at the final night of a restaurant's existence and accepted a brochure from a southern gospel church next door to it.  as I walked away with the brochure, I began singing music from Jesus Christ Superstar and watched the stars dance in the night and ocassionally consume each other.

Ready....discuss!

Kivafriends.org scrambled and respelled is "Risk And Forgive."  Of course, it also can be respelled "Asked For Virgin" and "Darer of Vikings" and even "Vinegar For Kids" but those are a lot less interesting.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.  Smack a man upside the head with a fish and you have his complete attention.

Laurie and Henry,

I couldn't resist.

Jill's setup was TOO perfect.  I was forced to come out of my shell and actually POST.

...which was Jill's whole point in the first  place.  So she accomplished her mission, at least with me, at least for a little while Smiley

Thank you, Jill!

Fredric,
    First, you're a funny guy.
Second... as to your thank you: It's my great and terrific pleasure.
    Glad to have you here.

Michael,
It's clear that in your Unconscious State,
you have an imagination that won't quit.
I'd bet that the one you've got dancing in your Conscious State
has a Lot More that you can offer and that will enrich our funny silly dear community here.

Birdwalking/Hijacking....    I just happen to be going to a Gospel Fest this weekend
with a lot of kids (and grown-ups) participating.. and I'm really looking forward to it.

I hum or sing (totally off-key) from Jesus Christ Superstar, frequently  (our ages are showing).
And, sorry about that fish fry you missed, even if it was only in your dreams.

OK -- time to get up.  Bye Guys.  And thank you.
       I mean it.  Smiley

I also want to encourage people to post.  I have never seem anyone flamed here like you see on other forums.  There are always differences of opinion and that makes it very interesting to read and participate in the discussions.   I have learned a lot from this forum.

Thanks for taking the time, stubear1012.
Am thrilled to have your input.

One of the things I was going to say "Later,"
(but I guess I'll say it now, since I stopped back in, though I'm on the run),
dovetails with something you said.

It's that as long as people remain good-hearted and civil --
and that's all I've seen,
so far, since I've been here,

People don't have to worry that they might say something that might strike someone else as
silly, or "dumb, " or wrong or sophomoric or long-winded ( Wink ),
(I do that all the time!).

The worst thing that might happen
is that some people might disagree with you or try to ignore you or shake their heads in incredulity or refuse to read any more of your posts
(People do that with me all the time!).

Were there any stronger, less civilized reactions to some pearl you may have chosen to share,
There'd be a whole lot of people here, including me, who
    Would "have your back," and
    Post wildly in your support.

Really, though, it isn't a worry.
This is one of the warmest, most tolerant gatherings of individuals you're ever going to run across,
and there are so many weirdos here, already,
that the addition of one or two or three more
   (thousand)
   probably wouldn't even be noticed.

Probably not (and I'll include myself as one of the weirdos)! Grin
