I hope it doesn't frustrate a lot of first-time visitors, but on the other hand.... think of all those entrepreneurs who have been funded this week!  WOW!!

*laughs* Well, at least we're making a little bit of progress! Think about how many people we have helped!

I do hope that we'll be seeing more borrowers soon, and in numbers large enough to keep the lenders coming. As a bookseller, I can tell you that Oprah's power is immense.  I think she has brought a great many people in who are going to have the checkbooks open for a long time to come.

All of the sudden, Kiva is a lot bigger than it was when I joined up in May!

While we're waiting for our Kiva fix, check out www.donorschoose.com. It's an online charity where public school teachers write-up projects they really want to do but don't have funds for. Donors fund them, and the kids take pictures and send thank you letters to the donor! Just to keep you in practice for the next round of lending opportunities. . . .

Hello all,

I am thinking that we should give the newbies a chance at getting the loans this week.  If someone new comes on several times, and there aren't any loans...they may give up or just forget to come back.  Just a thought.

I saw three or four loans show up for a few minutes.  Then it was down to just one on the "Featured Borrower" on the main page.  It was rather cool.  Each loan showed up one at a time.  Within five minutes, it was down to one on the main page.
