Back to normal it seems with the new month having started. There are now again 680 loans to choose from.  Smiley

Yeah, I just fell off my chair!  Grin
Me too  Grin
But now the total number of fundraising loans is down to 98 again, after several hundreds yesterday, so it will be interesting to see if the pipeline "dries up again" or if the MFIs are already preparing another massive "loan dump" as on Monday  Wink

It's dry again. Seeing the pipeline dry actually makes me somewhat happy. I think about it several times per day when it happens. Perhaps I need to go to rehab for addicted kiva lenders.

To be honest, it doesn't make me that happy... (also because I gave away a gift certificate over the weekend,) it makes me somewhat afraid regarding the impact it can have on new lenders - a very small selection - if any - of loans, not necessarily the most appealing write-ups/photos..., could easily turn them away from Kiva because they don't know/realize that it's somewhat special and probably temporary. For marketing purposes, the 700+ loans surely were more effective (IMHO).

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

Hi Wolfgang,

I totally agree with you. And therefore I have decided myself to leave the floor for the moment to the new lenders until the loan number is more stable again. (ok, admittedly the loan yesterday to El Salvador was an exemption from this, but this was one I really could not resist...  Wink). Of course it is great that everyone who wanted our help during the last days got it. But for the future success of the concept it would be better if not too many people get frustrated by having to revisit the page again and again before they can make their first loan.

Cheers from Berlin to Berlin,
Ramona
