LOL, what part of Down and Dirty was I not clear on?    Laugh Laugh Laugh

we should pick 8 previous smiles, then pick one a month until early december then get one ready for print at shutterfly or someplace like that if no one else comes up with a place to order them.  Short poem, and description of the loan need, location, etc.  on each page.

OOOOO,,,, and then in the future, maybe we can come up with a calendar with journal entries to match the photo's.

April should be a witep loan.....4/1  LOL

Henry,

well done.

And Ulli, I like the idea of at least adding a name and the URL to the borrower...maybe that's an incentive to visit Kiva (for those not beeing there every day).

I love the calendar idea. So many wonderful, inspiring pictures here, it will be hard to choose. It would be nice if the people whose pictures were chosen could be paid for the use of their smiles. In fact, maybe they'd have to be paid. They'd probably have to sign off on the use of the pictures of themselves, at least.

As Diane, Jill and many others have demonstrated, beautiful entrepreneur pictures aren't just about smiles.  I hope a Kiva entrepreneurs calendar also would include candidates from...

EDIT:
I looked at the cafepress.com guidelines for making wall calendars. They recommend an image size of 2300 x 1800 pixel with 200 dpi (dots per inch)
See template

Good point.. my adobe photoshop album, where i made that down and dirty one, gave me the similar errors.. but i clicked accept...haven't tried to print anything.

Good question about paying them or kiva for the use of the pictures..  hmmmmmm.... should I delete the file i just made for Jill.

     Back for a minute.
Mind has been going a mile a minute.....

    Thoughts:
One calendar?  A few different ones?  (Settle down, Jill, we don't even know if we can pull off one).

One pic per page?  Several pics per page?

Themes?  Best Smiles for our First Calendar?
     Even within that First Calendar,
maybe, maybe not, pages (months) organized by themes, one each for each month?
(with some FreeforAll months, just for the Super Pics that we couldn't fit into any category?).

If themes, either for Separate Calendars or for Individual Month Pages within One Calendar,
         Possibilities:

       Entrepreneurs Shown with Kids
       Entrepreneurs Shown with their Animals
Entrepreneurs Grouped Acccording to Their Work:
Fishing? Agricultural? Marketplace Stands of Food and/or Other?  Arts and Crafts?  Heavy Labor?  Whatever.

If someone has a particular category they'd like to pursue,
You can start a new Calendar Picture Thread so that people can help you find good selections for it,
for instance:

Calendar Photos: Entrepreneurs and Their Kids
Calendar Photos: Entrepreneurs (Shown) at Work
     Calendar Photos: Wonderful Close-Up Shots,
     Etc.

     Leaving Kiva World for now.
Here's the baton.  Run with it.  Go!
