I was chatting it up with Frank from Australia in the chat this afternoon and he too is a licensed wild animal rehabber. He does all sorts of wildlife like baby kangaroos while I stick to Squirrels and Opossums. He has some photos to share, so I said I'd start a new thread in the lounge so he could reply... I thought we could also include any animal photos anyone wanted to post... Here are some of my squirrels.

taken at a wildlife conference - he's a wedge-tailed eagle that can't be rehabilitated but he helps by being paid for public appearances and commercials - when he's full grown he'll have a wingspan of 6+ feet

Man ... you're NUTS !!!

That's probably why the squirrels like you - good for you for the work you do.

Sadly, I lost a baby blue jay this week. He fell out of his nest - the parents were feeding him regularly but it rained here and the night was cool and he died from exposure.  I checked the internet which advised just to let him be and the parents would take care of him but the weather turned out to be his enemy.

Wow, very impressive, Scott and Frank - and what a shame, Moonfish.

My contribution is just one pic from my trip to Australia in February 2000 (QLD and NSW), taken in a wildlife park (yes, I know, but I was a tourist, in Australia for a mere 10 days) close to the Gold Coast. I like those colours.

Take care,
Wolfgang.

Here's a pademelon orphan (pronounced paddymelons) a species we often cared for in Tasmania and a bundle of fying fox (fruit bat) orphans in their sleeping bags with dummies (pacifiers to our USA friends.

The pademelon's name is Newton. We name each baby alphabetically instead of by numbers so he was pademelon N .

Those are wonderful pictures everyone!!  Scott, am glad you and Frank started this thread.  I get to see animals I would never otherwise see.  I love the eagle picture.  He is so beautiful!

Frank, are pademelons a species of Kangaroo?  That is what they look like.
