In the new thread I started today, KivaFriends Calling Kiva.Org,
http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,898.0.html
I just now posted the entirety of an e-mail I received from Kiva.Org
re one of my WITEP loans.

Since I imagine many of you will have many questions as I do,
especially,
WHAT HAS HAPPENED WITH THE ENTREPRENEURS WE THOUGHT WE WERE TRYING TO HELP?

I thought it might be of value to have a thread totally devoted to our questions about WITEP.

I'm wondering, since you felt the need to have ONE PLACE (which I like the idea) to post inquiries, why the responses and discussions can't be at the same place?

(just a question - i'm in the limit new topic's mode at the moment, that could change) because I searched around for an hour to find a post I knew existed somewhere, but never was able to find it.

     Henry raised another question:

WHERE DID THE MONEY COME FROM FOR THE REFUNDS?

I wanted to make sure to express my
VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU TO KIVA
for all you've done in this regard,
       and for everything else.

Just saw Henry's post about consolidating the two threads --
the one about a more direct Pipeline to Kiva.Org, KivaFriends Calling Kiva.Org
and this, about WITEP.

That's fine with me.  I'll follow your (anybody's)  lead.....

Jill & Henry, the other "one place" topic seemed to be intended as a clean and simple place for summaries of issues.  Maybe it needs to be locked if that's the intent.  Then I assumed topics like this can be for discussing the issues.  Attempting to limit the number of topics on an unmoderated discussion board seems to be counter to the whole point of having it designed that way.  If that's what you want, then "moderators" need to start managing the boards, IMHO.

     Richard...
If you were expressing your own preference, I'm not sure what it was.  Could you clarify?

and what does IMHO stand for?

ummm, i think we have two 'semi-moderaters' doing an excellent job.  but hey, if you say it's ok to open topics.....i'm all for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (grin)

if the other one is locked, then when can the next question be added to it?  oh... a moderator!

also....since it's typically those of us 'heavy posters' here, i think a little self control will go along way.  Now when the board it packed with 'new people' then I see your point.

Jill,

thanks for posting! I'm glad the matter has been resolved, but, yes, indeed, it would be interesting to know where the money came from and what happened to the entrepreneurs...

I wasn't expressing a preference, just an observation.

What an excellent outcome!  hopefully most of the 100's and 100's of KIVANS who had loans with WITEP will continue with KIVA.

Hey everyone,

look at this chap: Steven !

He's a college student and he had one WITEP loan so far...nothing else. He reinvested his money TODAY! I find that WON-DER-FUL!  Clapping and as a German I might add:  Drinks

Very encouraging, showing that not all are turned away by WITEP.
